PAPPY JIM’S HEAVY DUTY HOOK REMOVER

Two well-known names in the fishing world, Penn and Eagle Claw, have joined forces to introduce 11 new models of hooks designed to meet the needs of all saltwater anglers. ST. CROIX PREMIER SALTWATER RODS

Five new conventional rods have been added to St. Croix’s Premier Saltwater Series for 2003. Each blank is a handcrafted, multi-dynamic blend of St. Croix’s SC1 fiberglass, SC2 fiberglass, SCII graphite and SCIIW woven graphite. The SWC66MHFRTS and SWC66HFRTS are 6-1/2-foot models featuring Aftco stripper guides and tip tops combined with Fuji Hardloy boat guides. THE LIP LOK

Weighing only 15 ounces and constructed of corrosion-resistant, precision-machined nylon and stainless steel here in the United States, the Lip Lok by Abori is a catch-and-release device equipped with a 50-pound plus scale. The design of the unit allows for one-handed operation and makes it impossible to shock or damage the scale spring since the fish is landed without exerting force on the spring. Simply attach the jaws of the Lip Lok onto the mouth of the fish and flip the locking lever forward to close the jaws. Your quarry can now be lifted aboard the boat with the shaft of the Lip Lok. Once safely aboard the boat, weight of the species can be determined by grabbing the T-handle on top of the unit and viewing the calibrateable scale on the stainless-steel shaft. REEL SAVER LUNRICANT

A high-performance lubricant that minimizes friction for smoother reel action and longer casts, Reel Saver also protects metal parts from saltwater corrosion.
